The sounds and look of the legendary concert film “The Last Waltz” will be brought to life at the Opera House in Boothbay Harbor on Saturday, February 16, at 7:30 p.m. by a group of Maine musicians under the leadership of Bob Colwell. The Martin Scorsese film featured the music of The Band but included appearances by Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Eric Clapton, Joni Mitchell, Muddy Waters and others. Local musicians channeling those legends will be a part of the performance at the Opera House. The show will include The Band’s classics “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down”and “It Makes No Difference,” Neil Young’s “Helpless,” Dylan’s “Forever Young” and “Baby Let Me Follow You Down,” “Further Up the Road” by Clapton, and other songs of the generation. Concert guests are invited to come as they are, but ’70s attire will be enthusiastically welcomed. Advance discounted tickets are $15 and available directly from the box office at 86 Townsend Avenue, or by calling 633-5159. Regularly priced tickets are $20 and available online at boothbayoperahouse.com and at the door.
