A Memorial Day concert, on Monday, May 27, at Lincoln Theater in Damariscotta, will benefit the restoration of the historic Waldo Theatre in Waldoboro.

The Adam Ezra Group (pictured), from Boston, will be bringing their folk tunes to the stage. Maine pop-folk duo Oshima Brothers will kick off the evening at 4 p.m. Craft brews from Odd Alewives Farm Brewery of Waldoboro will be available for purchase, as well as concessions and wine at the cash bar.

Since 2016, a volunteer board of directors has been working to restore Waldo Theatre, built in 1936 in the heart of downtown Waldoboro. After being shuttered for more than four years, the building requires extensive renovation and repairs to the roof and interior. With backing from community members and local businesses, the board intends to raise the curtain once again in 2020.

Tickets for the concert are $30 and can be purchased at Milling Around, 67 Main Street in Newcastle; Skidompha Library; Waldoboro Public Library; or on the phone from Bobby Whear at 441-2313. For more information, email info@thewaldotheatre.org or visit waldotheatre.org.
