Waterfall Arts, 236 High Street in Belfast, participating with the international Art Hives Network, will offer weekly Art Hive pop-up open studios every Thursday, starting February 7, from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Bridge Studio. Many materials will be available to create with, including paints, pastels, collage, and fiber arts. There is no fee to participate (donations are welcome), and all ages are welcome (kids under 12 must come with a supervising adult). Lisa Cohn, an art therapist in Belfast, has been dreaming of facilitating an Art Hive in Belfast for several years. “I was really drawn to the idea of creating a community space that is open to everyone. Having worked with teens, veterans, elders, and children with a variety of challenges, I have seen how art can truly change lives. I also see much value in bringing together all types of people to inspire and challenge and create together.” The Art Hive at Waterfall Arts will be the 158th Art Hive opened in North America and Europe.
