Shipping News: May 9, 2019

April 25: Great Eastern, a 600-foot Irving Oil tanker, arrived in Searsport from Portland and delivered 45,000 barrels of diesel. It departed later that day for Saint John, New Brunswick, location of the Irving Oil refinery.

April 26: East Coast, a 600-foot Irving Oil tanker, arrived in Searsport from Portland and delivered 80,000 barrels of gasoline. It departed later that day, anchored in Searsport Harbor, then continued on April 28 to Saint John, NB.

April 27: Tanja, a 606-foot bulk carrier, arrived in Searsport from Vila do Conde, Brazil, and delivered clay slurry, a paper coating. It departed April 30 for Portland before returning to Vila do Conde.

May 3: Noreaster, a 603-foot Irving Oil tanker, arrived in Searsport from Saint John, NB, and delivered 65,000 barrels of gasoline. On May 5, it continued to Bucksport and delivered 45,000 barrels of jet fuel, then departed later that day for Portland before returning to Saint John.

May 7: After several weeks in Belfast, tugboat Sarah Dann picked up a flat barge loaded with refinery modules from Cianbro’s Eastern Manufacturing Facility in Brewer and sailed for an undisclosed project in Pennsylvania.

Expected arrivals:

May 9 — Chemical Pioneer, to Searsport, delivering caustic soda.
