If the Insects Disappear, What Is Going On?

In Maine and the rest of the world, is the decline of insects really happening? Should we be worried, and what can we do about it? At the Belfast Free Library on Thursday, May 16, at 6:30 p.m., Dr. Frank Drummond, University of Maine professor of insect ecology, will present “If the Insects Disappear, What Is Going On?” He will discuss what the latest research shows and suggest what can be done about the decline of insects. The program, sponsored by Belfast Bay Watershed Coalition, is free and open to all. Pictured, a dragonfly in Searsmont. Photo: Fyn Kynd
